The Saudi Arabia pavilion participating in Expo 2020 Dubai announced the completion of construction work in preparation for the event, which will launch in October 2021.

The pavilion extends over 130,000 square meters, equivalent to the area of two football stadiums, making it the second-largest in Expo 2020 Dubai, second to hosts the United Arab Emirates.

The pavilion is six floors high, with an artisanal facade that depicts the richness of Saudi culture and heritage, the splendor of its nature and the people’s creative capacities and aspirations to move forward towards the future. The eco-friendly construction, resembling a huge window opening up from the ground and soaring into the sky, is powered by 650 solar panels manufactured by local entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia.

The pavilion sheds light on the 13 Saudi regions’ rich heritage. In line with the Expo 2020 Dubai motto “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, the Saudi pavilion will feature informative and interactive tours to visitors from around the world.

One of the major attractions is going to be the pavilion’s water curtain. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy many events and discover Saudi artists’ work, which will be displayed on a 1,320 square foot screen. A stunning artwork, made of 2,030 crystals, representing Saudi Vision 2030, will be the pavilion’s centerpiece.

Although Expo 2020 Dubai was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the stringent restrictions on travel, the Saudi Pavilion teams continued their efforts to ensure that it is ready to receive millions of visitors during the event scheduled between October 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022.
