Iraq records an unprecedented toll of new infections of Corona

Today, Wednesday, the Iraqi Ministry of Health announced that it had registered 8,331 new cases of the Coronavirus, which causes the "Covid-19" infection, which represents a record number of cases on a daily basis in the country.
The ministry stated, in a daily statistics, that the total number of Coronavirus infections in the country during the past 24 hours increased by 8331 compared to 7300 in Tuesday's data, bringing the general outcome to the level of 859622 cases, including 86606 under treatment.
She added that during the day, 37 new deaths were reported due to the disease, compared to 33 on Tuesday, bringing the number of pandemic victims in the country to 14572.
The Iraqi Ministry of Health stated that the number of people recovering from the disease reached 794,444 people, accounting for 88.7% of the total number of cases, after monitoring 5,020 new cures.
The Ministry of Health said that 118,670 people in the country have received the vaccine so far.
Last February, the Iraqi government imposed a curfew at night on weekdays and a complete curfew on weekends after a sharp increase in cases of "Covid-19".
And 336 thousand doses of a vaccine developed by the British-Swedish company "AstraZeneca" to prevent Covid-19 and 50,000 doses of the Chinese "Sinopharm" vaccine arrived in Iraq in March.
